About MISA

Madhvani International, SA "MISA" was established in 1979 after the overthrow of Idi Amin in Uganda, to recover, rehabilitate and manage the assets that were seized by the Uganda Government.  After 1972, when the Madhvani Family was forced to leave the country, MISA's President, Nitin Madhvani - the eldest son of the legendary East Africa industrialist Jayant Madhvani - was the first Indian to return to Uganda.

MISA, an investment, management and development company, was engaged in several rehabilitation agreements with the Government of Uganda, including the sugar, steel and soap operations.  Despite difficult beginnings and several successive coups d'etat, MISA resiliently continued to carry-out its objectives until the entities were once again able to operate soundly and the legal issues of ownership were settled.

After 1986, MISA embarked on an ambitious strategy to develop businesses in the industry, agriculture, energy and infrastructure sectors. With operations in East Africa, Europe and India, MISA began a concerted effort to re-establish an international enterprise in Energy, Industry, Infrastructure and Agriculture.

MISA remains committed to its long-term strategy to actively invest in industry, energy, infrastructure and agriculture, where unique technical and management skills play a crucial role in delivering market-driven and tailor-made client solutions.
